Nobody: Baring Life
and Lifestyle in the
Non-Place, 2022
Publication designed and printed as a university project

Created in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
Summary:
A non-place is a common area where people pass through and use the space for either transport or transaction instead of interaction with others. They are usually devoid of personality and will feel very corporate and bare. Some examples of Non-Places include; airports, train stations, shopping centres and hotels.

Ideation:

The goal for this project was to create a publication that had a lack of personal identity, similar to what is felt within a Non-Place. This was achieved by smudging eyes, removing colour and creating a cold and almost unsettling design. The use of various barcodes and the like conveys the idea of 'transaction over interaction', a common theme within the text. The Non-Place is sometimes seen as a location to simply, purchase what you need and pass through.
